Rope Making Weaving Kumihimo

ROPE BRAIDING

Re-use ordinary items like cardboard and yarn to make a plaiting device and use it to make an armband, necklace, key fob, and more.  Dating back to the ancient Egyptians, this technique is used to make fiber cords, ropes, and metal chains.  There are endless connections to math, pattern-making, repetition, and more.

Working with fibers helps with fine motor skills, stress reduction, cognitive improvement, boosts self-esteem, and regulates anxiety, happiness, and mood!
