JAPAN: CRAFT & FOLK ART

Travel to Japan’s countryside where making traditional folk arts have remained the same for more than a thousand years.  Experience daily life, culture, while also following the ancient process of using cotton for cloth and dye for color.  This workshop seamlessly weaves together history, science, math, and folk art through visuals, artifacts, and experimenting with simple tools and the authentic shibori technique to make your own resist-dyed cotton cloth to take home and display.
