INCA: LLAMAS & LOOMS

The Andes is one of the highest mountain ranges in the world, home to llamas whose fleece produces warm woolly clothing that lasts a lifetime.  Learn about the whole process--from shearing llamas, harvesting insects for dye, spinning and dyeing yarn, and weaving on looms.  Learn some of the ancient pre-Incan symbols that weavers still use in textiles worn today, and weave a colorful yarn armband/hair scrunchie.

Working with fibers helps with fine motor skills, stress reduction, cognitive improvement, boosts self-esteem, and regulates anxiety, happiness, and mood!
