INCA: LLAMAS & LOOMS
The Andes is one of the highest mountain ranges in the world, home to llamas whose fleece produces warm woolly clothing that lasts a lifetime. Learn about the whole process--from shearing llamas, harvesting insects for dye, spinning and dyeing yarn, and weaving on looms. Learn some of the ancient pre-Incan symbols that weavers still use in textiles worn today, and weave a colorful yarn armband/hair scrunchie.
