MESOAMERICAN TSIKULI GODS' EYES
Making tsikuli likely originated in pre-Columbian times in the Indigenous communities of the Americas. They are created following traditions deeply rooted in healing, protection, and striving for harmony with nature, unrelated to Christianity. Using sticks and yarn they are simple and meditative to make and beautiful to display -- some call them cat's eyes!
Working with fibers helps with fine motor skills, stress reduction, cognitive improvement, boosts self-esteem, and regulates anxiety, happiness, and mood!
