Basket Weaving Twining


Basket weaving is one of the oldest handcrafts and container-making methods used by humans.  Talk about blending math, science, history, art, AND small motor skills!  For thousands of years people have woven plants into baskets for carrying, storing, fishing, and even as airtight cooking containers and hats!  Learn how to twine a small basket using paper twist. Group size is limited to ensure participants receive individual help.


Ages 9 to adult

1 1/2 to 2/12 hours


OPTION for younger folks:

1 - 1 1/2 hours

Form your own basket or circular weaving using household items like cardboard, picture frames, or paper plates or cups.  Using less traditional items, it can be perfect for the younger set wanting to learn how to weave.
