JAPANESE AMERICAN INTERNMENT ART

A critical part of American history is the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.  Internees created beautiful objects from limited resources lending inspiration for you to do the same with found objects.  Your virtual field trip features artifacts from the Museum of Craft and Folk Art's popular 2006 exhibition and book by Delphine Hirasuna titled "The Art of Gaman."  Have you ever thought about making toys, gifts, or games out of only what you have in your own room?  We’ll do just that.

Best for participants 9 and older
